HoneyTrap - Case Study


HoneyTrap is a movie based on the honeytrap murder but told through the female perspective of the event.

The film was filmed and set in Brixton as this is where the actual event occured.

The film is Written and Directed by Rebecca Johnson.
Produced by Sarah Sulick, Bright Productions.



The budget was under 1 million pound. The was made through crowd funding and using money from the BFI.



Layla is played by Jessica Sula
Troy is played by Lucien Laviscount

The film marketed itself thought the BFI London film festival.

The target audience of the film are urban youth aged 15-25+

Social media like FaceBook, Twitter and Tumblr were marketing tools.
